A bar with a difference
Every year we pick local charities to support through fundraising days and events, with loose-change pots on the bar for each one.

raised for local charities over the years, thanks to the generosity of our customers.
In 2019 alone we raised over £5,000 for Great Western Air Ambulance through a range of fundraising days and activities. Our Macmillan coffee morning smashed its £500 target in four hours and raised more than £650.
We're proud of what our regulars help us achieve. If you'd like to get involved or donate a raffle prize, just ask at the bar.
Help us fund a 24/7 defibrillator
We're raising money for a defibrillator fitted to the outside of the pub, available to everyone in the community day and night. We hope it never needs to be used, but if it does, having one so close by can help save a life.
Any amount helps, and every donation also supports Great Western Air Ambulance.
Who we support
Great Western Air Ambulance
GWAAC's priority is reaching the patient fast. Their critical care teams of pilots, specialist paramedics and doctors treat people at the scene, on the road and in the air, giving them the best chance of a good outcome.
Although they work as part of the regional 999 service, they're a charity funded entirely by local people and businesses like ours, covering Bristol, Bath, North Somerset, Gloucestershire and beyond.
Be More Ben
The Benjamin Pritchard Foundation was set up in 2019 by Ben's parents to support families coping with the loss of a child. It offers an informal support network, counselling and complementary therapies, peer support for families with a terminally ill child, and helps professionals better understand bereavement and loss.
Portishead Christmas Lights
More than 100 volunteers, from electricians and artists to expert ladder holders, give up their free time all year round to make Portishead the most festive town in the west.
The display costs around £20,000 a year. A council grant helps, but most of the money comes from sponsors and donations like ours.
